This article is dated but revenant to our new year 2018 and beyond.
newyearPerhaps you’ve felt some resistance to getting your engines fully up and running these first weeks of January. Or your best-laid intentions have gotten off track. That’s right, it’s not personal. You are more than in-sync that you realize.  These first weeks of January are a great time to revisit and revise your resolutions/goals/intentions you’ve set to accomplish this year.
As the lights go out in 2016 and we look to our new cycle to begin, are you prepared? In Human Design we recognize beginnings and the start of the new cycle when the Sun enters Gate 41, Decrease. (Read more about Gate 41 Decrease, Less is More) So yes, on January 1, 2016, the calendar changed from one year to the next. However, the energy shift for newness and beginnings is January 22, 2017 closer to the Chinese New Year.

We’ve read and heard from our thought-leaders, economist, scientists, astrologers, and other experts that we are going through dramatic shifts and rapid changes here on planet earth. We are on our way to experience more changes in our climates, corporate, and financial infrastructures as well as new and better ways for agriculture, health care, and education systems to name a few. As above, so below… Changes and innovations are permeating, pushing us all deeper into our own inner revolution.

The self revolution checklist:

Know where you’re going.

Ask yourself: What is my passion? What do I really want to do? What really feeds my soul? If I knew I could not fail, what would I do differently? If I had all the money I needed, would I still be doing what I’m doing?
“Follow your bliss.” These wise words from Joseph Campbell can serve as a guidepost for you in the coming cycle. Check-in with yourself every day, 100 times a day, to assess your thinking and your doing. Ask yourself, is what I’m doing or thinking at this moment taking me closer to my bliss or further away? Or is it neutral?
What steps can you take today to move you closer to your bliss?

Know who you are.

The greatest gift you can give yourself and the world is to know and be who you are. Knowing who you are is one thing – living and behaving authentically is another.  Human Design is a revolutionary tool that will uncover your authentic expression and unique expression as well as provide you with practical strategies for a happier and healthier life.   This knowledge can help you let go of unrealistic expectations, self-condemnation, and resistance. Knowing your strengths and your vulnerabilities is essential to maneuver smoothly in the times ahead.

Love_Self_firstNurture your mind, body, and soul.

People’s lives are jam-packed with projects, goals, and obligations resulting in little if any time for self-care. Have you noticed, when it comes to self-care, simple is smart? It is a bunch of little simple things that add up to significant benefits.

Keep things simple.

What are the two or three simple things you’re going to do to gain a higher level of well-being this year? Maybe: reduce your alcohol intake, less TV, more sleep, worry less, smile more, dance more, plant food or flowers. What feels right for you to create a more peaceful inner world?
In closing, I invite you to find a quote or Role Model to remind you to come back to what is most important in your life.
